Plausible pricing: traffic tiers and annual costs

Plausible prices depend on plan, traffic tier and billing period. The table starts at 10k monthly pageviews; custom events also count. Prices retain the vendor’s displayed $ symbol because the public currency endpoint did not identify an ISO currency.

Plausible pricing at a glance

Public list prices with the vendor’s displayed $ symbol (localized; ISO currency not established) checked 2026-10-02. The annual column is a monthly equivalent, with an annual billing commitment.

All table prices use the lowest 10k monthly traffic tier. Larger traffic tiers cost more. Pageviews plus custom events are summed across a team’s sites; visitors are a different metric.

Annual totals are taken from the live yearly selector. Rounded monthly equivalents must not be multiplied to reconstruct a different annual invoice.

The page localizes its currency symbol via Paddle. This browser and the public currency endpoint showed $, without an ISO code; these figures are displayed amounts, not a confirmed USD, AUD or checkout quote. Confirm the currency and taxes before paying.

Start with pageviews and events, not visitors

Plausible's subscription rules combine pageviews and custom events across the team's sites. For example, 80,000 pageviews and 30,000 custom events add up to 110,000 billable events. That arithmetic crosses a 100k tier even though neither component does alone. It is an illustrative workload, not a bill from a tested account.

A headline such as “120,000 visitors last month” cannot identify your price tier. Record actual pageviews, enabled custom events and the sites included in the subscription. Review the previous months too, so a seasonal peak does not become an assumed permanent workload.

Compare the billing controls at the same traffic volume

We checked monthly and yearly controls at 10k, 100k and 200k. The main table uses 10k. The larger traffic-tier table above uses the same plan order and the actual annual totals displayed by the vendor. Its prices and the primary plan table share one reviewed data file, so the billing assumptions remain consistent when prices are refreshed.

These are displayed amounts with a localized dollar symbol, not a confirmed USD or AUD quote. The currency response returned only a symbol. Annual monthly equivalents are rounded for presentation: $11.67/month beside a $140 annual charge does not turn that bill into $140.04. Confirm the final currency and tax treatment when purchasing.

What happens when traffic exceeds the tier?

The billing FAQ distinguishes an occasional spike from sustained growth. One month above the allowance does not require an upgrade. After two consecutive months above the tier, Plausible asks for an upgrade; leaving that unresolved can restrict dashboard access while collection continues. Do not model this as a per-event automatic overage fee.

Compare a subscription with operating Counterscale

Counterscale changes the budget to Worker requests and CPU, Analytics Engine usage and R2 storage/operations. Cloudflare currently says Analytics Engine usage is not billed yet and publishes prospective allowances; that announcement is not a permanent price guarantee. Workers and R2 still have their own limits.

Count daily peaks, dashboard activity and retained data, then allocate time for maintenance. The alternatives shortlist and comparison help decide whether basic reporting is enough. Use the setup guide for a bounded pilot before treating any hosting estimate as a production result.

Common questions

Does Plausible have a free plan?

The managed site advertises a 30-day trial. Its Community Edition is free source for self-hosting on your own server; that is separate from the managed trial and its infrastructure has operating costs.

Are Plausible prices based on visitors?

No. The documented usage total combines pageviews and custom events across a team’s sites. A visitor can generate multiple billable events.

What does Plausible cost at 100k pageviews?

The checked 100k selector showed Starter $19, Growth $29 and Business $39 per month, or $190, $290 and $390 per year. These retain the localized $ display; confirm the checkout currency, taxes and event volume.
